# Cyan Voice

> A Mac app that gives Claude Code a voice. It reads finished work aloud, asks
> out loud before anything risky runs, takes your next instruction by voice, and

Cyan Voice is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or
sponsored by Anthropic. Claude, Claude Code and Anthropic are trademarks of

## What it is

Cyan Voice runs alongside Claude Code on macOS. It installs hooks into Claude
Code so it knows when a session finishes a task, when one is blocked on a
permission prompt, and what each session is working on. It speaks through a
panel that drops out of the notch, and it listens through the Mac's microphone.

It does not replace Claude Code, does not need an Anthropic API key, and does
not see your Anthropic credentials. It drives the Claude Code you are already
signed in to with your own Claude account.

## What it does

- **Speaks finished work.** When a session finishes, Cyan Voice reads the result
  aloud, so you can start something long and walk away.
- **Waits for your answer.** The microphone stays open after it speaks, so
  replying is talking. No hotkey, no wake phrase.
- **Listens when called.** Say a wake phrase or press a key. Your words go to
  the project you name, or to Cyan Voice itself if you name none.
- **Asks before anything runs.** When a session hits a permission prompt, Cyan
  Voice reads out what it wants to do and waits for your answer. It never
  decides anything itself, and ignoring it is always safe.
- **Briefs you each morning.** The first time you are at your Mac each day, it
  tells you what happened across your projects yesterday.
- **Lives in the notch.** No dock icon and no window. Hover the notch for what
  every session is doing, which one needs you, and how much of your Claude limit
  is left.

## Requirements

- macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
- Claude Code, installed and signed in to your own Claude account.
- Windows and Linux are not supported yet. Both are planned.

## Price

$14.99, paid once. No subscription. One licence activates two Macs at a time,
and a licence can be moved between machines from the Manage licence page.

## Privacy

By default, speech recognition and speech synthesis both run on the Mac, and
neither your code nor your conversations leave it. Cloud speech providers
(Groq, OpenAI, Fish Audio, ElevenLabs) are optional, off by default, and each
needs an API key you supply yourself; if you turn one on, the text being spoken
or the audio being transcribed goes to that provider.

The website and licensing service store the email address you bought with, your
licence key, and a salted hash of each activated Mac's hardware identifier.

## Common questions

**Do I need an Anthropic API key?**
No. Cyan Voice uses the Claude Code on your Mac, signed in to your own Claude
account. There is nothing extra to pay for and no key to manage.

**Is my code or my conversation sent anywhere?**
Not by default. Speaking and listening happen on your Mac unless you explicitly
configure a cloud provider with your own key.

**Can it approve permission prompts for me?**
It asks you and passes on your answer. It never decides anything itself, and
ignoring it is always safe.

**Can I use it on more than one Mac?**
Two at once, a laptop and a desktop for instance.

**Which Macs does it run on?**
Any Mac on macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

**Is there a Windows or Linux version?**
Not yet. Both are coming.
